Dear CRFC Parents & Members
We hope you have enjoyed the first half of our 2022-2023 season despite it being brought abruptly to an end sooner than we would have liked due to the arctic weather. We have had a strong start to the season in most age groups and in our competitive leagues our u13 colts and u13 youth sit in 1st with the u18s and u12 colts in 2nd place in their leagues at the Christmas break.
As a charity we rely on the generosity of sponsors and parents to ensure we can provide top quality coaching and facilities to a wide range of boys and girls in our community. This year one of our coaches Samson has been very unwell but it has been wonderful to see so many of you recently donate to his fundraiser which has smashed through the original target. The campaign is still live for a few more weeks so there’s still time to help out via this link.
This season the club renewed all bursary cases and also took on more bursary applicants as we have all experienced a sharp increase in the cost of living. Unfortunately also the cost of pitches, training venues and referees have continued to rise. Whilst we did increase our fees we are still relying on sponsors and donations to cover the full cost of our annual operations.
To help us cover our costs and to get people together In the new year we are planning a fundraising quiz night and raffle on Thursday 26th January from 7pm upstairs at The Sun pub in Clapham Old Town. There will be a host of prizes (donations welcome) and so far we have a pair of premier league Chelsea tickets to raffle as well as a dinner for 2 from one of our sponsors. Funds raised at this event will go towards running of the club, paying our coaches and further widening our net for more bursary cases next season. Please save the date and we’ll soon share more details for ticket sales and donations. If anyone would like to donate in the meantime please do so via our Just Giving link here.
Wishing all players, parents, coaches and sponsors a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2023!
Yours in football
