Letter from Chairman 3rd April

Dear Parents,

All of us at Clapham Rangers hope you are safe and sound at home, and you and your families are keeping well.

As we all now settle into some kind of routine, we thought it a good time to get in touch with an update on Clapham Rangers.

We have been busy and still working where we can. First, we have taken advantage of the hiatus to relook at the way we run the club. As such, we will be updating our policies, improving communication, including revamping our website, and streamlining procedures. Clapham Rangers is also now a registered charity and the club’s application for FA Charter Standard status is pending approval from the Football Association.

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the smooth running of the club please let us know on info@claphamrangersfc.com.

While we are all at home, we are also looking at fun football-related things for our players to do. For instance, we will send out more ball mastery videos and we have launched a kick-up challenge and would love to see all players take part. Top ‘scorers’ from each age group will win sportswear from our Nike and Kitlocker partners.

We will begin working with our coaches to continue to use their skills and experience to keep our players engaged and fit, and working together as teams. We are also dedicated to developing further our coaches skills and knowledge for the coming season.

The club is also looking at launching a hardship fund for our coaches who would normally be paid for training sessions and matches over those final few months of the season lost due to the shutdown. We’ll be sending more details on this over the coming weeks.

All subject to change, of course, but listening to experts over recent days it would seem appropriate to plan as if we were back to some sort of normal by September for the start of the 2020-21 season.

To this end, we will soon submit our application to the League with our teams next season and preparing allocation of squads for each division. We will aim to stick to the normal timetable for registration of players and ordering new kits by submitting both from July. More on this very soon.

We will also post more content on our social media pages: @claphamrangers for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Please follow us if you can.

Thank you once again for your support.

Please remain safe and we look forward to the day when we can play football again.

Warmest regards,

Simon Millson

Chairman, Clapham Rangers F.C.
