Match Summary  (Very kindly written by Nash Pradhan)

First Half

Clapham Rangers U12 Colts played Broomwood Ospreys on the weekend.  The game was held on Wandsworth Common on a grey but dry day.  The pitch, as is always the case on municipal managed property, was lumpy and uneven.  This didn’t hamper us.

There was a good showing of parents, siblings, and friends pitch side to offer support and this additional impetus seemed to give the boys the urge to apply pressure from the off.  This was the first opportunity to see the new signing Talib in action.  He didn’t disappoint, his energy and surging runs on the right-hand side of midfield added to the dynamism of the team and left the crowd wanting to see more and more in future games.

The first half started well with 3 early goals scored, if my memory serves me correctly, 2 from Godwin and 1 from Hugo.  Some inventive play from the midfielders James, Rahvon, Tom, Hugo and Talib who were very consistent in attack, coupled with fine, clinical finishes gave us the early wind in our sails.

Meanwhile our ever-reliable defence maintained control until a slight lapse in concentration allowed Broomwood to score against the run of play. Rhys, Djibril, Ruban and Gabriel were in total control for the rest of the game.

Second Half

The second half picked up from where the first half ended, a dominant display from the Rangers, Godwin scored another 2 goals (it later became apparent that he had been promised £6 for every goal he scored on the day!) taking his earnings up to £24.  Rahvon picked up a goal and Wani scored from the spot at the second time of asking, after the opposition goal keeper made a fine same from the initial attempt.

All in all a great performance.  Well done Coach Luke.

Bring on the cup!

Man of the Match

Men of the match, awarded by Coach Luke are Godwin and Rhys.  Godwin for his phenomenal goal tally and Rhys for outstanding play in defence.  Well done boys
