 Man of the Match: Xavier Mills – Awarded by the Team Manager for flawlessly executing a free kick that every Premier League player would be proud of.

 Match Summary

Clapham Rangers U12 Colts played a match to be proud of.  Strong teamwork and brilliant individual performances by every single player.  Clapham Rangers stayed strong – In terms of resilience, determination and execution of set pieces to set up countless shots on goal …. Consistently keeping the pressure on the Independent team.

 First Half

Independent found their way through a strong Clapham Rangers defence to score an opportunistic goal in the first 10 minutes of the game.  For the remainder of the half, Clapham Rangers dominated in terms of possession.  The team worked together to keep the Independent goalkeeper busy, pushing forward with numerous creative and energetic shots at goal.  Half Time Score was 1 – 0 to Independent.

 Second Half

After Half Time, Clapham Rangers came out stronger than ever.  Clapham Rangers kicked off the second half – their first offensive move resulting in Jahvan scoring.  1 – 1 after 5 minutes.  The crowd had barely stopped cheering Jahvan’s goal when Josh fired another one in, taking Clapham Rangers ahead, 2 – 1.  Independent fought back with a second goal, levelling the score at 2 – 2.  Clapham Rangers’ 3rd goal was scored by Xavier … The most stunning free kick that curled over the goalkeeper’s head and into the back of the net.  Clapham Rangers ahead again 3-2.  Next up was an Independent free kick – saved by Zak saved in the most spectacular fashion.  Frustratingly, Independent managed to sneak a 3rd goal into the net 10 minutes from the end of the match.  Despite battering the Independent defence, Clapham Rangers were unable to pull ahead again.  Final score 3 – 3.
