Match report as follows:
First Half
Clapham Rangers had a strong first half. The opening goal came from Jahvan with goals soon to follow from Xavier and Kamran. Jahvan ensured that the half time score was even more impressive by putting in another goal. Zak made two particularly great saves. Half time score was 4-0 to Clapham Rangers.
Second Half
Balham scored soon after half time to put the score at 4-1. Not to be outdone, Kamran scored again, bringing the score to 5-1. Clapham Rangers maintained consistent and effective pressure on the Balham defence and keeper. Zak made the most incredible triple save – at point blank range – to maintain the scoreline. Balham pulled one back with an impressive curling effort that Zak could do nothing about. Score 5-2. A final goal from Balham put the score at 5-3. Balham staged a late surge but Clapham stayed strong to start the season with a great first game win 5-3.
