Summary:
Tyerman’s men were relentlessly destructive in Saturday’s 9-0 scalping of their Battersea rivals in a tie that promised end-to-end action from the moment Bedhead finally ventured into Clapham’s half late on in the eighth minute.  After a couple of notable saves from Bedhead’s keeper, Rowlands slotted home twice in quick and skilful succession to put CRFC into a commanding mid-half lead.  But all hopes of an early hat-trick were dashed as Hemmings, with a deft touch in and around the 6-yard box, stepped up to take advantage of some midfield wizardry by Tabraham, and took the home side to a 3 and then 4-nil lead with 5 minutes still to play in the half.  Bedhead’s number 6 showed skill and flair, but was resoundingly blocked by Max “the wall” Graham at every time of asking.  Knight was called into action with one testing close range shot, which was confidently handled, and the half ended with a couple of darting runs down the left wing by Hyde to keep the pressure firmly in Clapham’s favour.
Manager Wes Tyerman’s half time calls for more were quickly answered as Rowlands completed a well-deserved hat-trick with a blistering strike from his laces.  Five minutes later, the capacity crowd were treated to a Kennedy master class, deconstructing Bedhead’s defence twice is as many minutes and bringing the score line to 7-nil.  But Rangers weren’t finished.  With Hyde, Graham and Knight sharing back line and keeper duties, the nil never looked in doubt – but Man of the Match Rowlands had one last bite of the cherry, before super-sub Batra came on to pile on the pressure.  Tabraham had the last say with a net-buster that sealed a resounding 9-nil win.  Final result – Clapham Conquerors – Bedhead Beheaded.
