Brief Match summary:
For the first quarter of the game, Westside defended well and at times looked to threaten Clapham’s goal. However, once Clapham took the lead they drove on and despite the occasional need to defend, they went into half time 6-0 up. The second half proved to be a much closer contest, with Westside and Clapham both defending well at times. Clapham’s continued pressure eventually paid off and they scored twice more, to finish 8-0 winners and complete a great start to 2016. Considering that the boys hadn’t played a match for a while, the quality of their passing and general awareness was noticeable and is a testament to all the hard work done in training, for which their coaches, Wes and Tom, deserve a special mention. Man of the match was awarded to Anand Batra for his four goals, which included a first half hat trick and for his overall contribution to the game.
