U11 Youths & U13 Colts & U13 Colts (Sunday) Match Reports

U13 Colts won a thrilling game against Peckham Town 5-4, starting with only 10 players were 2-0 down after 15 mins, Frankie pulled one back & then Sahill equalised a little before Half Time.  Went 3-2 down before Tom equalised, we took the lead when Charlie squeezed a shot home from a narrow angle. with 10mins to go Shaan had to go off injured, 15secs into injury time Peckham equalised after a sceamble in our penalty box, expecting their ref to blow the final whistle after the re-start Tom Chiabi hid a splendid 40 yard diagonal pass Frankie raced away & squeezed the winner home from a tight angle. Whistle went after a thriller of a game & all credit to all the Clapham players who worked their socks off & played as a proper football team. Special mention must go to MOM Tom Chiabi who was immense, showing strength, determination, skill & great decision making, one special moment when under close pressure from 3 Peckham players showed great skill to get round & into space & pick a telling pass in one attack.

Note: the game was played as a friendly as our pitch booking with Southwark we were not informed that we had to provide goal nets & our nets were in use at Clapham Common.

Sunday U13 Colts v Melwood (A) L 2-11 (HT 0-7) (Brandon 2) MOM : Jesse McFarlane

With 10 of our regular players missing (Oscar, Shaan & Will injured)(Tom playing for Millwall, & Sahill trial for Barnet. rest on school trips) we had a very weakened side out against a good Melwood side, & were very poor in the first half, with hardly any possession, hardly in their half & giving up possession (when we had it) too easily, not tracking runners & positionally poor. After half time we did a lot better in all of those aspects, Brandon taking both his goals well at one stage 2nd half score was 2-2 & Brandon unlucky with one chance & a free kick giving their goalie some work to do, but with no subs tired & Melwood took advantage with 2 late goals.

U11 Youth were brilliant in winning with only 8 players against a good, skilful European side with Marco Bullock outstanding upfront with his work rate & link up plat & scoring 2 well taken goals, Billy netted second game running since his debut (2 in 2), Angus withstood the pressure of waiting 2mins to score a penalty, but credit to all the players for a good disciplined performance.
